Most of us have heard the saying from Mark Twain, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."  Maybe that phrase should really be, "There are lies, damned lies, and presidential speeches on health care!"

No one remembers much about the president's speech on health care except for two words uttered by someone else, namely South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson.  The now infamous "You lie!" is today's equivalent of "Remember the Alamo!"

In his address to Congress Obama said that illegal immigrants would not be eligible for low-cost health care has sent the nation into a tizzy-fit. The truth is, the president WAS wrong.  If H.R. 3200 becomes law, six million illegal immigrants would gain $31 billion in benefits under the health care plan he is trying to sell the American people. Congressman Wilson's outburst may have lacked decorum, but really, who cares? Joe Wilson only verbalized what most of us were thinking!  The president was caught once again fudging the facts. 

Wilson apologized and the White House accepted.  Now, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have launched a counter-strike.  Should Joe Wilson be brought down for speaking his mind and for telling the American people the truth about bad public policy?  ABSOLUTELY NOT!
